This production of the Yiddish Immigrants was performed at the Thalia Theatre. The theatre, which was more commonly known as the Bowery Theatre, went through many names during its existence, and was only called the Thalia from the 1880s to the 1910s. As immigrants began populating the Bowery, the theatre began catering to various immigrants communities. During the period of the Thalia theatre, it became a prominent space for Yiddish theatre. The poster above advertises a special performance of the Yiddish Immigrants, a play written by the famous Yiddish author and playwright, Nokhem Meyer Shaykevitch (who went by the pseudonym Shomer). This performance featured the Yiddish comedian and composer returning to his popular role of Feitl Pavolye.
